This English language textbook is based on two authentic works of contemporary American prose: The Queen's Walk by Walter Tevis and The Book and Potato Peel Pie Club by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Burroughs. The textbook consists of two modules, each of which is preceded by an introduction (Before reading) that provides a brief biographical summary of the author of the work and asks you to complete exercises and answer listening questions. The While reading section then focuses on lexical, grammatical and speaking exercises. The final section (After reading) contains exercises and questions for self-testing, and creative exercises/ essay topics.
